Day Wines 2018 Babycheeks Rosé

On a warm, bluebird, autumn day of harvest, gorgeously glowing red fruit from the Rogue Valley rolled down the sorting table leaving a stream of rosy colored juice in its wake. Across the table I saw the same colored reflected inthe sweet little faces of my dear friends' babies and I knew I needed to make a rosé.

Day Wines 2016 Queen D

I made this wine with my sister in mind, because she likes me to pick out her wines and generally gravitates toward stone-fruity whites. It was named it for her (Danacia) and for my mom-friend Diana.

Day Wines 2017 Aligoté

This wine is a one off - I won’t be getting the fruit again from this site (perhaps I’ll find Aligoté from another vineyard) but I had to seize the opportunity to work with such a rare grape for Oregon. The vineyard is a currently unnamed site in Ribbon Ridge AVA, grown organically.

Day Wines 2017 Chenin Blanc

Like the Aligote, this wine is a one off from an unnamed organic vineyard in Ribbon Ridge AVA. I have always wanted to make Chenin blanc, it is one of my all time favorite wines.

Day Wines 2016 Belle Pente Chardonnay

I am ecstatic to be able to work with fruit from this lovely site.  Brian O’Donnell is someone who I have looked up to in the industry for years, and for whom I was lucky enough to work in 2011.  The site that he and his wife, Jill, farm really embodies the diversity I have in mind when I think of a multi-cultural farm. They grow fruit trees, cows, geese, chickens and vegetables in addition to grapes.

Day Wines 2016 Vicis

Pinot noir, Pinot gris and Pinot blanc are all very closely related varieties, like sisters to eahch other. I made this wine in honor of my dearest friend Jennifer, who really is like a sister to me. In the years since we were young teenagers together, I have witnessed the huge and devastating effect that breast cancer has had in her life.

Day Wines 2016 'Broken Destemmer' Johan Vineyard Pinot Noir

The destemmer broke the day this fruit came in so this wine is 100% whole cluster. Because of the different treatment from the rest of the fruit, this wine is completely unique and I felt it needed to be showcased on its own.

Winery exclusive wine - only available for purchase directly from the winery either in our tasting room, by calling or online.

This tip of the hat to Côte-Rôtie comes from Mae’s Vineyard, an organically farmed site in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. If you have never been to Southern Oregon I can’t encourage you to go enough.

Day Wines 2015 Running Bare

I have long been interested in the concept of field blends so I was excited to find Tannat, Cabernet franc and Côt (Malbec) all growing in Mae’s Vineyard in the Applegate Valley. The fruit was grown together, picked together, and fermented together – so blending happened in the field.

Day Wines 2015 TNT

I don't find that Tannat in Oregon behaves as it is said to in other places. It isn't crazy over the top tannic, it doesn't get big and ripe and chewy. Perhaps because our climate only allows for it to get just ripe and not overly ripe, it stays fairly elegant and the acid is always extremely present.
